ABOUT FREEDOM CHURCH

WE ARE A CHURCH ABOUT RELATIONSHIPS.

We want you to have an authentic relationship with God. We want you to know him and the power of his love. We want you to find your purpose and meaning in him. We want you to understand how much he loves and values you. And we want you to have authentic relationships with God‘s people. It’s not good for us to be alone, and while we are human beings, complex and messy and imperfect, we can find satisfaction and support in our relationships with God‘s people.

WE ARE A CHURCH ABOUT EXPERIENCES.

We want you to have a real experience with the Holy Spirit, the power that gives you everything you need to live a godly life. The Holy Spirit is not an it, not your conscience, not that thing that makes you feel bad when you mess up. He is the power that raised Christ from the dead living inside of you, giving you the ability, by his power, to overcome sin, deal with iniquity, and live the empowered life God wants you to.

WE ARE A CHURCH ABOUT FREEDOM.

We want you to experience the power of lasting freedom. There are no shortages of bondages in which we find ourselves, but God‘s plan for us has always been freedom. Freedom in him, freedom to live the life he’s called us too, freedom to be full of joy, making a difference in this world. That’s what God wants of us, and freedom is what you can find here.

OUR VISION

To help people have authentic relationships with God and his people,
to have real and regular experiences with the Holy Spirit,
and to find lasting freedom.

HOW DO WE MAKE THE VISION A REALITY?

This vision becomes a reality through exciting and impactful Sunday services, which includes modern worship, relevant, biblical, series-styled teachings, opportunities to grow through Next Steps sessions, and a safe, fun, and effective kid’s ministry.

Along with Sunday services, we will see peoples’ lives changed through weekly small groups, through events, through personal mentoring, counseling, and development, and through an emphasis on outreach and community engagement.

We’re always asking:
How can I help you get closer to God and his people?
How can I help you get closer to a Spirit-led life?
How can I help you get closer to real freedom?

Our main mission elements can be summed up in Sunday Services and Weekly Development, which includes Weekend Services, Small Groups, Next Steps, Serving Others through a variety of means including community engagement, and more, and through Ongoing Development that includes spiritual, personal, and leadership facets.

1. Dynamic Weekend Services – We intentionally organize our services to lead people into a relationship with Jesus. Our vision is to help people have real relationships with God and his people, have real spiritual experiences, and find real and lasting freedom, and weekend services will go a long way in helping make that a reality.

2. Meetups (Small Groups) – We believe that genuine change comes from the life change that happens in intentional community. Freedom Church exists to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus and his people. A huge part of that happens in the context of small groups. We are a church of small groups, not a church with small groups. Learn more at www.freedomdl.com/meetups.

3. Empower (Next Steps) – This program was designed to help people grow in their relationship with Jesus. From the initial decision to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, to serving in life-changing ministry, we lead people, step by step, from healing to freedom to growth and into a fulfilling serving role utilizing four phases: Freedom, Power, Purpose, and Leadership. Learn more at www.freedomdl.com/next-steps.

4. Serving Others – Our Freedom Church Serve Team is a group of incredible people that have discovered their gifts and passions and are actively serving in them. This team is all about one thing: serving God by serving his people.

5. Ongoing Development – Sunday is not the only day of the week. We really believe that while Sunday is super important, Monday through Saturday provide ample opportunities to discover what you are passionate about, calling out that greatness in you, and helping you reach your highest potential.

CORE VALUES

The Word of God first and foremost, and secondly, our Core Values are what we see as the most important. They drive our processes, decisions, ministries, systems, and so much more. They define what we do and how we do it at Freedom Church.

WHAT ARE OUR CORE VALUES?

Jesus Is Our Message – Life begins with Jesus, and if we are going to reach the potential that God placed in us, not only for our purpose, but for our original design – sons and daughters through a relationship with God, then it starts with Jesus and being his follower. Matthew 28:18-20, Colossians 1:15-29, Romans 1:16-17

People Are Our Priority – People are God’s greatest treasure, and if God thinks that, we do too. People matter and that means we value them, love them, serve them, and invest in them, no matter what. John 3:16, Luke 15, Luke 19:10

Development is our Focus – God created you with a purpose for a purpose, and we believe that if you are breathing air, then you still have something great to do to move the Kingdom forward. One of our main roles is to do everything we can to help you reach your highest potential in Christ Jesus. Even Jesus was in a development process, and he engaged in developing every person he came in contact with. We want to do the same.  Jeremiah 29:11, Luke 2:52

Unity Is Our Pursuit – When unity happens, God commands a blessing. Unity is more than getting along. It is linking arms and moving the Kingdom forward, in our lives and in our city. But unity is not natural. It is something we have to collectively go after, which is why at Freedom, we pursue it. Our pursuit is to build bridges, not walls, and that is done through unity. John 17:9-11, 23, Psalm 133:1-3, Revelation 7:9-12

Team Is Our Structure – Everyone needs a team. We all have blindspots and because of that, we believe that we need godly people in our lives to help us reach our potential. These people know us and know God, love us and love God, and have our best interest in mind. As our lives are built, team provides the structure around us where, when we need help, we have not only God, but a squad we can reach out to for support. Life was not meant to be lived alone. We all need a team. Genesis 2:18, Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, 1 Corinthians 12, Ephesians 4:16

Excellence Is Our Standard – Excellence isn’t perfection. It is consistently giving your very best. We believe that when things are done with excellence, that it inspires people, that it shows that we value them, and ultimately honors God. Colossians 3:23-24, Daniel 6:3, 1 Kings 10

Generosity Is Our Privilege – The verb of the Bible is giving, and we are fully aware that God has generously provided everything we have. As a result, we see generosity not as an obligation or from a sense of guilt, but that we should cheerfully, consistently, and sacrificially give our time, talents, and treasure. Jesus gave, and when we give, we are imitating and exemplifying what it means to be generous, as it has been modeled to us by him. Generosity is a privilege, it is our privilege. Malachi 3:10, Proverbs 11:24-26, 2 Corinthians 8 & 9
