Life change happens in the context of relationships.

Meetups are designed to help people connect, grow, and enjoy life together! We know life can be challenging sometimes, but we weren’t meant to do life alone. Living life through community is part of how God made us, many times we have trouble forming these relationships and that’s why Meetups exist. In meetups you can find meaningful relationships based around interests or life stage.

We encourage you to take what you like to do in life and do it with others! Start a meetup based on your interest, passions, needs or relationships.

From sports meetups to freedom meetups, from mom’s meetups to men’s meetups, from study/discussion meetups to range shooting meetups…there’s a meetup for you!

Did you know you’re designed to live in community?

You can face life with the kind of love and support God has in mind for you. Now is the perfect time to find a Meetup that fits your schedule and season of life.

MEETUP FAQs

Whether you’re gathering to watch football, study the Bible, do devotions, or go hiking, the goal remains the same: to have a place to laugh, grow and experience life together. We have meetups ranging from studies to sports, hobbies to outreach, and just about everything in between.

There are 3 ways to join: 1. Meetups Launch (2 wks prior to each season) 2. Online at our Meetup Portal 3. Or by calling our offices at (936) 262-4550.

You can fill out the Meetup Leaders application here, and you don’t need any previous experience! Any experience you’ve had leading a meetup in the past is helpful, but we invite you to sign-up even if this is the first time you would be taking on a leadership role. Everyone has to start somewhere! And remember, God wants to use YOUR life experiences to change peoples’ lives.

We have two (10 to 12)-week Meetup seasons: Spring & Fall. Our Spring meetups usually begin mid-February and end in May, and our Fall meetups begin late September and end early December. Life is busy, so this makes it easy to join a meetup without feeling like you’re giving up your whole life. While we do have a start and end, we strongly encourage our meetups to continue to gather outside of our seasons.

In terms of each Small Group meeting itself, that depends on what the group is covering. Typically a group is about 1.5 to 2 hours long, but they can vary based on engagement and activity.

1. GROWTH

These are any meetups focused on personal or spiritual growth, including Bible or book studies, devotions, sermon discussion, men’s & women’s meetups, leadership and more

2. ACTION

An action meetup is any meetup that has a missional focus, such as homeless outreaches, community service, men’s and women’s shelter, mission teams, etc.

3. INTEREST

Interest meetups can include studies and missional components, but are primarily gathered around a common interest. i.e. Monday Night Football, bowling, hobbies, hiking, meetup dinners, even watching a TV show, etc.

4. COMMUNITY

Community meetups are all about being relational, hanging out, developing friendships, and can be done as a family style meetup with kiddos, as young adult meetups at a coffee shop, anything really. These meetups are for those who want to create community but without an agenda like a book study or common interest.

5. MESSAGE RECAP MEETUPS

Each week, we will send out a list of questions based on the weekend’s sermon, purposed to initiate discussion on how we can apply the message to our daily lives. Message Recap Meetups will gather like any other meetup (in homes, coffee shops, etc).

We believe that church is best experienced in community, which truly happens beyond Sundays. Sundays are GREAT and we need to get together and celebrate together, sharpen each other, encourage each other, and do all of the things that come with an in person meeting. Even so, there’s so little time on a Sunday to really do everything God wants to do in a person’s life. But when we open our homes to people, gather in circles instead of pews, build relationships over a few months, we give God a space, and we give each other a space, to talk about the things that are really going to help us get closer to Jesus. We need each other and the love, support, and encouragement that comes from being together, and we are convinced that meetups are the way that happens best.

Acts chapter 2 describes the early church, which is what we try and model our Meetups after: Acts 2:42-47 – They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Ready to take a powerful next step?

For many people, the thought of leading a group can be scary, but what if I told you that God could use you, your family, your life experiences, and your home to help people’s lives be changed forever? Would you do it? The truth is, most people’s lives aren’t changed in a Sunday service. It is done more often with a friend or a trusted small group of people who are actively engaged in helping them reach their potential in Jesus.

We’re not asking you to preach a message, to be a theologian leading a Bible study, to be an expert on some self-help book, or to be God’s gift to small group leadership. We’re just asking you to be you and help people find freedom.

We’ll train you. We’ll help you. We’ll empower you. We’ll be there non-stop to assist you. And I promise this: after the Meetup semester is over, you’ll find that, while you did this to be a blessing, you were the one who actually received it!

Take a step. Lead a Meetup.
